Campus respects your privacy and is committed to protecting it through our compliance with this Privacy Policy. By accessing or otherwise using the Website, or by using our Services (including by using any equipment provided or owned by Campus, as well as any email or other account provided or owned by Campus), you agree to the terms and conditions of this Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into the Terms of Use for the Website, to the Enrollment Agreement and/or other applicable agreements for the Services, and to Campus's collection, use, and disclosure of your information in accordance with this Privacy Policy, where such agreement is permitted by applicable law.
Education Institution's Privacy Policies
Campus partners in various capacities with universities and institutions (each, an “Education Institution”) to provide educational programs (each, a “Program”). If you apply or enroll in a Program, the use of your personal information, including your education records, if applicable, will be governed by the respective Program's privacy policy.
We regularly review our compliance with this Privacy Policy. Whenever we receive a formal complaint, we make best efforts to contact the person who made the complaint to attempt to resolve their concerns. Collection of Information
Information You Provide
Campus collects information from you when you choose to provide it to us. For example, we collect your information when you submit a webform requesting information about Campus-powered Programs, or otherwise contact us or provide information to us through the Website or when you provide information to us when using our Services. The information we collect may include personal information – such as your name, address, e-mail address, telephone number, and the content of any communications that we exchange – as well as non-personal information.

Information We Collect When You Use Our Services
We use Campuswire as our online learning platform. When you use Campuswire as part of our Services, we will manage and monitor your use of Campuswire, including all content and communications processed through Campuswire, for the purposes described in the “How We Use Your Information” section below, for the purposes described in the Campuswire Privacy Policy, for purposes of maintaining a safe and secure platform through monitoring compliance with the Campus Acceptable Use Policy, and as set forth in the Campuswire Terms of Service for your use of Campuswire.
In addition, when you use our Services, you will be issued a @my.campus.edu email address (for students) or a @faculty.campus.edu email address (for instructors) and an associated online account (collectively, your “Account”), which will be supported by Google Workspace. When you use your Account, we will manage and monitor your use of the Account, including all content and communications processed through the Account, for the purposes described in the “How We Use Your Information” section below, for purposes of maintaining a safe and secure platform through monitoring compliance with the Campus Acceptable Use Policy, and as set forth in the Terms of Service. Your use of the Account will also be subject to Google's privacy policy and other applicable Google policies.
Information From Technology Equipment
If you elect to use equipment that is subject to our Technology Equipment Agreement (“Technology Equipment”), we will manage and monitor the use of that Technology Equipment, including all content and communications on any Campus-issued laptop or hotspot, for the purposes described in the “How We Use Your Information” section below, for purposes of maintaining a safe and secure platform through monitoring compliance with the Campus Acceptable Use Policy, and as set forth in the Technology Equipment Agreement.
Information From Our Tools
We may make certain tools available to you, such as research tools. If you choose to use such tools, we may receive information such as whether you elect to use the tool and from where you are accessing the tool. You understand and agree that the use of your information by any these tools will be governed by the privacy policies of these third-party platforms and your settings on that platform. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.
Information Automatically Collected
When you visit the Website, use the Services, or interact with emails that we send to you, we passively collect information from you, including your internet protocol address (“IP address”), browser type, operating system, device identifier, device model, software version, or mobile or ISP carrier information. We also infer your general location information, for example by using your IP address.
Information from Cookies and Similar Technologies
We and our third-party partners collect information using cookies, pixel tags, or similar technologies. Our third-party partners, such as analytics and advertising partners, may use these technologies to collect information about your online activities over time and across different services. Cookies are small text files containing a string of alphanumeric characters. We may use both session cookies and persistent cookies. A session cookie disappears after you close your browser. A persistent cookie remains after you close your browser and may be used by your browser on subsequent visits to our Website.

Our Website may include social media features and widgets, such as Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn sharing buttons. These features may collect your IP address, which page you are visiting on our Website, and may set a cookie to enable the feature to function properly. Social media features and widgets are either hosted by a third party or hosted directly on our Website. Your interactions with these features are governed by the privacy policy of the company providing the feature.
Information Collected from Other Sources
Where permitted by law, we collect or receive information about you from the Education Institution (as defined below), your employer, companies to which you indicate that you would like to learn more about a Program, companies that are our partners, companies to which you've provided your information for professional or continuing education opportunities, employers or potential employers, or other entities within the Campus family of companies (collectively “Other Sources”) in order to update or supplement the information that you provide or that we collect automatically, as described above in Information Automatically Collected. We use this information to help us maintain the accuracy of the information we collect, to target our communications so that we can inform you of products, services or other offers that may be of interest to you, and for internal business analysis or other business purposes.
Our Combination of Your Information
We combine the information we receive from and about you via the Website, through our use of our Services, and from Other Sources to help us tailor our communications to you and to improve the Website and Services.
Failure to Provide Personal Information
Failure to provide certain information may make it difficult or impossible for you to access some of our Services, including some services through the Website. You should ensure that personal information submitted to us is accurate and up-to-date. For example, we need a current email address to communicate with you about a Program.
How We Use Your Information
Purposes for Collecting and Processing Personal Information
We may use the information we collect to:

- providing our Services, including to facilitate participation in a Program and to support learning outcomes
- verifying your identity
- communicating with you
- facilitating transactions and payments
- To conduct Campus's business, ensuring that we conduct our business in line with our objectives, improving and developing our products and services, and keeping our records accurate and up to date. This includes:
- using your information to provide products and services you have requested and responding to any comments or complaints you may send us
- personalizing your experience with the Website and helping us to better respond to your individual needs
- targeting advertising to individuals with similar interests or characteristics through services offered by third parties
- marketing and advertising purposes, such as developing and providing promotional and advertising materials that may be relevant, valuable or otherwise of interest to you
- developing new products or services or conducting analyses to enhance current products and services
- troubleshooting and resolving issues
- reviewing the usage and operations of the Website, the Technology Equipment, the Campuswire platform, any Campus-provided Accounts, and any other Services, and analyzing and improving the Website, the Technology Equipment, the Campuswire platform, Campus-provided Accounts, and other Services (we continually strive to improve the Website and all of the Services based on the information and feedback we receive from you)
- contacting you for legitimate business purposes
- using personal information to invite individuals to take part in market research
- enforcing our applicable Terms of Use (i.e., the Terms of Use for the Services, Technology Equipment, Campuswire platform, and Campus-provided-accounts), enrollment or other agreements, codes of conduct, the Campus Acceptable Use Policy, or other policies or legal rights, or as may be required by applicable laws and regulations or requested by any judicial process or governmental agency
- where consent is not required by applicable law, for direct marketing purposes
- protecting the security and functionality of the Website and all Campus Services, including using personal information you provide to investigate any complaints received from you or from others about the Website and all Campus Services or our products and services
Processing Information at the Direction of the Education Institution
In some instances, Campus may collect and process your personal information at the direction of the Education Institution.
Use of De-identified, Aggregate or Anonymized Information
We use de-identified, aggregate, or anonymized information to help us analyze the use of the Website and all Campus Services. Where permitted by law, this Privacy Policy does not limit our use or disclosure of de-identified, aggregate, pseudonymous, or anonymous information, and we reserve the right to use and disclose such information to our partners, advertisers, and other third parties at our discretion.
How We Disclose Your Information
Campus discloses your information with other entities or individuals in the following limited circumstances:
- Education Institutions: We may disclose your information with the relevant Education Institution to provide a Program, track your participation in a Program, and/or fulfill our contracted responsibilities to the Education Institution. Once we disclose your personal information with the Education Institution, Campus does not maintain control over the Education Institution's use of your personal information. We also disclose de-identified, aggregate, pseudonymous or anonymous information with the Education Institution for their own research and analytics purposes. The Education Institution's use of your information is subject to its privacy policy.
- The Campus Family of Companies: Where you have expressed interest or given your consent, we disclose your information with the Campus family of companies to provide you with information about educational services offered.
- Service Providers: We disclose your information with third parties that provide business, professional, or technical support functions for us. We use third-party providers for website hosting, maintenance, marketing services, learning platform services, courier services, certification services, business operations, payment services, identity verification, and tutoring services (“Service Providers”). These Service Providers are only given access to your information to the extent necessary to process your information and/or provide services to Campus, and they are prohibited from using or sharing your information for any other purposes. Where permitted by law, Campus discloses limited information about you to Service Providers to serve relevant advertising on third party platforms to you or to other audiences.
- Your Employer or Sponsor: We disclose your information with your employer or sponsor, if such third-party is paying for your Program. Information disclosed in this case shall include Program performance information, unless otherwise expressly agreed in writing with Campus.
- Potential Employers: Where you choose to work with our career services team, we will disclose your information with potential employers. Information disclosed in this case shall include your resume, employer-ready materials that you prepare (e.g., your portfolio), your LinkedIn profile, or other information that you make available to Campus.
- Advertising Partners: We work with third-party advertising partners to show you ads that we think may interest you. Some of our advertising partners are members of the Network Advertising Initiative (https://optout.networkadvertising.org) or the Digital Advertising Alliance (https://optout.aboutads.info). If you do not wish to receive personalized ads, please visit their opt-out pages to learn about how you may opt out of receiving web-based personalized ads from member companies. You can access any settings offered by your mobile operating system to limit ad tracking, or you can install the AppChoices mobile app to learn more about how you may opt out of personalized ads in mobile apps.
- Legal Matters; Safety: We access or disclose your information to satisfy any applicable law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request; in connection with an investigation on matters related to public safety; as permitted by law; or otherwise as required by law. We may disclose your information to protect the security of a Program, the Website, Services, servers, network systems, and databases. We also disclose your information, as necessary, if we believe that there has been a violation of our Terms of Use (including investigation of potential violations thereof), any other legal document or contract related to the Website or the Services, or the rights of any third party.
- Fraud; Security: We access and disclose your information to detect, prevent, or otherwise address fraud, security or other technical issues.
- Consent; Other: We disclose information with third parties when we have your consent or otherwise as described to you at the point of collection.
- Sale or Transfer of Business or Assets: Campus may sell or purchase assets during the normal course of our business. If another entity acquires us or any of our assets, information we have collected about you may be transferred to such entity. In addition, if any bankruptcy or reorganization proceeding is brought by or against us, such information may be considered an asset of ours and may be sold or transferred to third parties. Should such a sale or transfer occur, we will use reasonable efforts to try to require that the transferee use your information in a manner that is consistent with this Privacy Policy.
- Text Messaging Originator Opt-In Data and Consent: All of the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent, which will not be disclosed with any third parties except (i) with our service providers that perform services on our behalf, (ii) if we believe disclosure is required for legal purposes, or (iii) if you give us consent to such disclosure. No mobile information will be disclosed with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. Message frequency varies per use, and message and data rates may apply. Information Security and Data Retention
We are committed to protecting the security of your information. We maintain what we believe to be appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure your information and to prevent unauthorized access, maintain accuracy, and ensure appropriate use of your information. The accuracy, safety, and security of your information also depend on you. Where we have given you – or where you have chosen – a password for access to any of the Services, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. We ask that you not share your password with anyone. Even though we do our best to protect your information, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure, and we cannot guarantee our security measures. We are not responsible for any unauthorized access to or acquisition of your information.
We retain your personal information for as long as we have a relationship with you. We also may retain your personal information for longer period of time which enables us to:
- Maintain business records for analysis and/or audit purposes;
- Comply with record retention requirements under the law;
- Defend or bring any existing or potential legal claims;
- Address any complaints regarding the services;
- Enforce our commercial agreements
International Visitors
Our Website and our Services are hosted in the United States and intended for visitors located within the United States. If you choose to use our Website or our Services from the European Union or other regions of the world with laws governing data collection and use that may differ from U.S. law, then please note that you are transferring your personal information outside of those regions to the U.S. for storage and processing. We may also transfer your data from the U.S. to other countries or regions in connection with storage and processing of data, fulfilling your requests, and operating our Website and our Services. By providing any information, including personal information, on or to our Website or through the use of our Services, you consent to such transfer, storage, and processing.
Additional Information
Education Records
You may have specific rights relating to the disclosure of any personal information that you provide to us and/or education records that we may create about you under the Family Education Rights & Privacy Act (“FERPA”). You also may have specific rights under FERPA related to accessing and/or updating your personal information. Certain information may be excluded from education records made available for inspection, within the bounds of the law and our confidentiality undertakings with third parties. You may also request amendment of education records that you believe are inaccurate, misleading or in violation of your rights. If you would like to inspect and review your education records pursuant to FERPA, you may submit a request to the Education Institution's FERPA office. Any FERPA-protected information will be processed by Campus at the direction of the Education Institution and will not be used for targeted advertising.
Do Not Track
There is no accepted standard on how to respond to Do Not Track signals, and we do not respond to such signals.
California's Shine the Light Law
If you reside in California and have provided your personal information to us, you may request information once per calendar year about our disclosures of certain categories of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. Such requests must be submitted to us in writing at privacy@campus.edu.
If you are a California resident and do not want Campus to disclose your information to third parties (including to affiliates within the Campus family of companies or Education Institutions) for their direct market marketing purposes, you may opt out by writing to us at privacy@campus.edu.
Children's Privacy
We do not direct the Website or the Services to, nor do we knowingly collect any personal information via the Website or the Services from, children under the age of 16. If you learn that a child has provided us with personal information in violation of this Privacy Policy, then you may alert us at privacy@campus.edu.
Public Forums; Publicly Available Content
Any information you may disclose through the Website and the Services on message boards, in chat rooms, or on other public areas, such as on webinars that you may attend about a Program, may be viewed by others, including your classmates and learning facilitators. Please exercise caution when disclosing personal information in these public areas. If you do not want Campus to store metadata associated with your content, please remove the metadata before uploading your content.
Third-Party Content, Links, and Plug-Ins
The Website and the Services may also offer you the ability to interact with content provided by third parties not affiliated with Campus (“Third-Party Content”). Third-Party Content linked to or embedded on this Website and other Services is governed by the privacy policies of those third parties. Your use of Third-Party Content is subject to each site's privacy policy, which may be different from ours. We have no control over the information that is collected, stored, or used by Third Party Content.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
Campus reserves the right to change, modify, or update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to our privacy practices. Notice of any material changes to our privacy practices will be posted to our Website or through our Services before such material changes become effective.
